Metspray is a full-service industrial coatings company based in East Tamaki, Auckland. With both shop and site capabilities, we specialise in the application of high-performance industrial coatings and intumescent coatings, providing long term protection from corrosion and/or fire for your structural steel or equipment, no matter the environment.​

our story
Metspray was originally established under the name of Metal Spray and Gritblast by Roy Sutherland in the early 1970’s and was one of the leading pioneers for thermal metal spray technology in New Zealand. During this time the facility was a modest 900sqm facility to accommodate a wheel abrader, blast booth and enough room to apply either thermal metal spray or liquid protective coatings.

In the early 2000s Matthew Brajkovich purchased the company and saw the addition of a second blast booth and facility on the 88 Harris Rd site, directly adjacent to the Neales Rd factory.
​
In 2012, current owners Chris and Kim Schultz-Merrick acquired the company, rebranding it to Metspray. Since then, they have seen the company grow from 9 employees to over 100, along with 2 additional factories being added. They have continued on the legacy left by Roy, producing the highest quality of workmanship in industrial coatings.
